The Co-op fulfills its 115-year old mission as a non-profit corporation by returning all profits to its owners - the students, faculty and staff of the University. Since 2000, The Co-op has given over 32 million dollars to UT in the form of gifts, grants and rebates.

Art Supplies
The Co-op Art Store, located at 2242 Guadalupe, provides the creative materials that the students and faculty of The University of Texas use to work toward artistic excellence. We serve the community of Artists in and around campus by providing the highest quality art and drafting supplies at the lowest price. From Winsor & Newton to Canson to Strathmore Artist Papers – we stock everything you need to express your creativity. Our other lines include: Cresecent Mat Boards, Liquitex Acrylics, Golden Acrylics, MABEF Easels, Staedtler Drafting Supplies, Midwest Wood Products, and many more.
In keeping with our commitment to service, we put together supply kits at the beginning of each semester for Art, Architecture and Photography classes at the University. These kits allow students to purchase all of the supplies that they need for a particular class at greatly reduced prices. We regularly host free classes that showcase artistic techniques and methods. We are committed to our patrons and their creativity.
Co-op for Kids
Little Longhorn fans, and their parents, will find just what they need in our children’s department. UT merchandise is available in sizes for infants, toddlers and school age kids. We have Texas Longhorn t-shirts, fleece, jackets, shorts and pants for all ages. Multiple styles of football jerseys and cheerleading outfits are available for the future Longhorn all star. Add the finishing touch to your outfit with Texas shoes, socks, belts and hair accessories. Co-op for Women
Located on the second floor of our Guadalupe location, The Co-op for Women features Texas Longhorn merchandise designed exclusively for women. We are proud to offer the most extensive selection of ladies Texas Longhorn clothing, game day gear, and accessories all in one convenient location.
The apparel selection includes Texas Longhorn t-shirts, both short sleeve and long sleeve, cheer shorts, pants, and fleece. Longhorn fans can accessorize from head to toe with socks, shoes, pajamas, purses, jewelry and watches. Our selection of Texas Longhorn merchandise for women offers something for everyone. Our apparel comes in many different colors and styles, each one with a Texas Longhorn logo. Some of the most popular designs include the arch Texas, the steer head (also known as Bevo), and the Texas tradition. We offer these designs on many different t-shirts and shorts. We feature new and exclusive Texas Longhorn merchandise, in the hottest trends, that changes each season so be sure to visit us often. Custom Publishing
Custom Publishing was created to provide customized print solutions for university courses. Our goal is to help instructors put together various materials unavailable from any one source or textbook. For students, our aim is to provide the most economical and effective course packets possible.
Cutting edge printing and scanning technology, together with Adobe pre-press software, allows Custom Publishing to provide speedy and accurate throughput. Free pickup and delivery is available in Austin. We accept either printed or digital media and systematically archive course materials. There is no charge for scanning and clean up of packet materials. We also print out-of-print materials. A variety of paper, cover and binding choices are available.
Working through the Copyright Clearance Center, we obtain copyright permissions for course material and include those costs in packets at no markup in price; there is no charge for this service. Our site license for Harvard Business School Publishing allows us to provide the lowest royalty fees available for case studies and articles. These discounts are passed through to students.
Other advantages include course packet availability alongside textbooks on Co-op shelves, and Course Packet purchases are eligible for the Co-op yearly rebate.
Custom Publishing is committed to responsible printing practices. All course packets are printed on Green Seal, SFI and/or FSC certified papers.

Burnt Orange Book Machine at Forty Acres Press
Forty Acres Press (named for the original 40 acres granted for the University of Texas campus), specializes in printing academic works that support the University's educational mission. We also work with educators, writers and hobbyists in Central Texas to make published works available for distribution purchase.
The Burnt Orange Book machine (BOB) is a fully integrated patented book making machine which can automatically print, bind and trim on demand perfect bound library quality paperback books with 4-color cover indistinguishable from their factory made versions.
The BOB will print, bind, and trim a 300 page book in less than four minutes. The trim size of a book is infinitely variable between 8.25" x 10.5" and 4.5" x 5.5" and the BOB machine Version 2.0 can bind up to 830 pages.
The Electronics Department at the University Co-op offers a wide variety of products that meet the needs and requirements of the present day college student. With a central Austin location, the Co-op provides convenient shopping for items such as calculators, ink cartridges, blank media, hardware, computer accessories, dorm room supplies, and personal electronics at competitive prices. The Electronics Department offers Texas Instruments and Hewlett-Packard models of scientific, financial, and graphing calculators, as well as a large selection of ink cartridges. Brands such as Canon, Hewlett-Packard, Epson, and Lexmark are always in stock. Additionally, we now offer a new line of after-market and remanufactured versions of these brands that are available at discounted prices.
Many forms of blank media and portable storage devices are readily available in the Electronics Department. We stock CD-R and CD-RW media, zip disks, diskettes, audio and video recording media, and USB flash memory/pen drives. We also offer a selection of hardware products, including wireless and corded ethernet cards for desktop and laptop computers; Netgear corded and wireless routers; Logitech, Labtec, and Belkin mice and keyboards; Hewlett-Packard and Epson inkjet printers; Altec Lansing, TDK, and Labtec computer speakers; web cams; and USB hubs.
For personal electronics, you can choose from Sony and Panasonic voice recorders, Sony and Jwin CD walkmans, Rio and Creative MP3 players, and Sony and Jwin arm-band radios. To accompany these devices, we offer many styles and brands of headphones.
Graduation
The University Co-op Graduation Department is the only source for official University of Texas graduation regalia. Conveniently located in the basement level of the Co-op Main Store at 2246 Guadalupe St., the Co-op Graduation Department offers an extensive selection of everything the Longhorn graduate needs.
The Co-op Graduation Department is open for Spring and Fall commencement. For Spring commencement, the department is open March through May. For Fall commencement, the department is open October through December.
You will find a large selection of graduation items at the University Co-op, including invitations and announcements, caps and gowns, diploma frames, and more. Our personalized graduation invitations and announcements highlight your degree, major, and ceremony time and location. We also carry gold seals to add an elegant finishing touch to your invitations. Longhorn Country
When you walk into the University Co-op, located at 2246 Guadalupe Street, you enter a sea of burnt orange merchandise and apparel. Welcome to Longhorn Country! We have the largest selection of University of Texas Longhorn merchandise in Austin, including long-sleeve, short-sleeve and sleeveless t-shirts in a variety of colors. We also carry a large selection of Longhorn shorts, polos, jackets and silk-screened and appliqued fleece from brands such as Nike and Russell Athletics.
The souvenir selection in Longhorn Country is extensive. You will find University of Texas coffee mugs, shot glasses, and wine glasses as well as a wide array of Longhorn party supplies, graduation gifts and much more. Photo
The University Co-op Photo Department located in The Co-op Art Store at 2242 Guadalupe offers a wide variety of photographic materials. Our central Austin location provides convenient shopping for all photographers, from amateurs and hobbyists to students and professionals. We carry a large selection of film, darkroom photo paper, darkroom chemistry, and photo accessories, as well as motion picture film and supplies for University of Texas students in the Department of Radio, Television, and Film.
Our film selection includes black and white, slide, and print film available in 35mm and medium format. We carry Kodak, Fuji, Ilford, and Polaroid products. For the darkroom, our Kodak and Ilford black and white photo paper is available in all sizes from 3 1/2 x 5 to 16x20.
To meet basic photographic needs, we offer a range of photo accessories, including developing tanks and reels, print files and workboxes for archival print and negative storage, print mounting boards and mounting tissue, lens cleaning materials, and print retouching materials.
The University Co-op Photo Department remains one of Austin's only motion picture film suppliers providing both super 8 and 16mm motion picture film. For RTF students, we supply mag stock, press tapes, splicing tape, leader, slug, film cores, reels, and cans. Our employees have extensive photographic knowledge to help them assist customers thoroughly. The Photo Department strives to maintain a range of products that meet the photographic needs of the whole spectrum of photographers.
School Supplies
The Co-op School Supply Department located downstairs at the Main Co-op at 2246 Guadalupe offers the widest selection of Longhorn School Supplies in the country. From UT pens and pencils to notebooks and binders we put school spirit in the classroom. We also provide a huge selection of gifts for graduates, including leather briefcases and résumé holders from Canyon Leather Goods and fine pens with UT insignia from Cross Pens.
We make supply kits for classes in Biology and Mechanical Engineering at greatly reduced prices.
Textbooks
The University Co-op is the only store that will carry every book required and recommended for every class at the University of Texas. We offer competitive prices on all textbooks, and are conveniently located on Guadalupe, directly across from the west mall.
No other store anywhere stocks as many used books for UT courses as The University Co-op. We maintain one of the leading used book programs in the United States, saving our students more when purchasing textbooks for upcoming semesters. In addition, we offer more for your unwanted books every day through the year and finals week “best price” buybacks.

The University Co-op East Bookstore is a primary source for school supplies. We carry a wide selection of pens, paper, spirals, and binders. Co-op East also carries binders, folders, pad holders, and spirals imprinted with the University of Texas logo.
Co-op East located at 2902 Medical Arts in Austin, Texas is the one-stop location to get textbooks for courses in the UT School of Law, the UT School of Music, the UT School of Nursing, and the UT School of Public Affairs. Additionally, Co-op East carries an extensive line of Law and Nursing reference books and study aids. To top things off, the University Co-op East carries a full line of womens, mens, and childrens apparel, including clothing, caps, and souvenirs decorated with University of Texas Longhorn symbols.
