What is the rebate program?
Since 1896, students, faculty, and staff of the University of Texas at Austin are eligible for a rebate on all their purchases from the University Co-op. The rebate is given out annually in the form of a gift card, based on purchases between July 1st and June 30th of each school year. At the end of the school year, the Co-op Board of Directors will determine the amount of the rebate. For the past decade, the rebate has been 10% of the total receipts turned in.
How do I get a rebate?
Create a rebate account on our rebate website (rebate.universitycoop.com) and begin tracking your purchases from the Co-op. After each purchase from the Co-op, log in and upload your receipt information. At the end of the school year (June 30th), the account will be closed and tallied and your rebate will be handed out in October.
Where do I pick up my rebate card from last year?
Rebate cards will be available for pick up at the Academic Floor Help Desk of the Main Store. When the rebate cards are ready, you will receive an email notification at the email address on your account letting you know the card is ready. Typically, the rebate cards for the previous school year will arrive in mid-November.
What qualifies for the rebate?
Most purchases from the Co-op or our website, from textbooks to clothing. There are a few exceptions, such as textbook rentals, gift cards, and sale items. The rebate applies to the subtotal of your purchase, it will not include sales tax or shipping fees.
