Informed by the southern gothic landscapes of his adolescence and his experiences as a touring musician, the poems of Harold Whit Williams methodically navigate a tightrope balance between measured language and colloquial speech patterns, solemnity and subtle humor. Williams is a master craftsman of the lingering image, and his calm impressions of light and loss and the irreversible passage of time will not quickly leave the reader. These poems are haunting in the best possible way.
