16 things #UT16 Needs To Do Before They Graduate

For graduating seniors, May seems like a lifetime away. However the semester’s already flying by, so make sure you take advantage of all the time you have left in Austin. Here’s a list of 16 things you have to do before you graduate!

1) Take a tour of the tower

You’ve probably seen your friends post pictures from the observation deck before, but this is one you have to do yourself. If not for the beautiful views, do it just so you can tell people you’ve been to the top!

2) Get your UT ring

Your ring is not only a sign you’re a college graduate, but it’s also a constant reminder of your Longhorn pride. Every time you look down at it, you can remember all the great memories you’ve had at the 40 Acres.

3) Take grad pics in front of the tower

Did you even go to UT if you don’t have a picture of you in your cap and gown in front of the tower? We also offer (amazing) graduation portraits in our grad department!

4) Send out graduation announcements

It's time to tell the world you are graduating from the best university in the world! Sending out announcements also increases your chances of getting cash $$$ from relatives :). You can order announcements HERE

5) Pub-crawl on 6th

In our opinion, one of the most underrated things to do in Austin. Why aren’t more people into this?? You’re on a PUB CRAWL, through AUSTIN, and it’s socially acceptable to get tipsy in the MIDDLE of the DAY. Definitely be sure to put this one on your list.

6) Go to a game from every sport

Cheap student tickets are no longer a thing after you graduate, so take advantage of this while you can! Plus, Texas Basketball has been killing it lately so you definitely don’t want to miss seeing them play.

7) Order your cap and gown HERE!

Don't be that one senior who isn't prepared on graduation day.

8) Plan a post-grad trip with friends

Everyone tells you to travel before you start working full-time and it’s true. You deserve to celebrate before you all spread out across the country and start working, so grab some friends and plan a last minute road trip or getaway with your crew.

14) Get ready for the real world by preparing for the following

-Resume

-Cover letters

-Job fairs

-Student loans

15) Pass all your classes and graduate

Because as great as your four, (or five, or six) years were on the 40 Acres, adulthood is a whole new wonderful world completely free of all-nighters and test-induced stress and being a “poor college student”.

16) And finally…no matter whatever you do this last semester, just make sure you cherish it.
