  • Dear Customers,

We want to let you know that the University Co-op is open for business to serve our students and community, with a commitment to the health of our staff and customers.

Like many others, we’re taking guidance from the CDC, which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take, and we have taken those measures. As a result of this information, we have increased the frequency and rigor of the cleaning of our stores and offices, including, but not limited to, the regular sanitation of all doors and door knobs, banisters, countertops, in-store point-of-sale stations, and credit card pin pads.

We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick or are returning from an area of the world identified as posing a coronavirus-related risk.

If you don't feel well, or choose not to visit one of our stores, of course we are ready to serve you at

We’re actively monitoring the situation with the health of our community and staff as a top priority. Please visit for the most up-to-date information on store hours and shipping.

We appreciate your support of our mission to support students, faculty, and staff.

    Stay Healthy and Hook ‘Em,

    Cheryl Phifer

    President and CEO, University Co-op

  • With The University of Texas's change to online courses and the closure effective 3/21, we are working to develop a process to continue to support students with rental books outstanding. While we are finalizing plans, please note your following options,

Option 1: Buy out your rental

    How much will it cost?

Textbook Retail Price - Rental Fee = Buyout Cost!

Sounds great! How do I get started?

Contact customer service via email or call (800) 255-1896. Please include the name and email address you used for your rental along with the title of the book you would like to buyout. Note – We’re operating on reduced customer service hours: M-Fri 12p – 5pm. We will get back to you as soon as possible and thank you for your patience!

Option 2: I want to return my rental book

For now, please keep your books! Do NOT ship books back to us as the store is temporarily closed. We will be in touch with information about how to return rentals very soon; in the mean time, just hold on to your books until further notice.
