We must prioritize the health and safety of our community, Co-op employees, UT faculty, staff and students who are so close to finishing their semester after a difficult and challenging year.

Our mission is to support student success at UT Austin, and it takes all of us to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to keep everyone healthy so that students can stay focused on their education and those who teach courses and assist in students’ experience focused on ensuring student success.

Help students finish their semester strong by wearing a mask while shopping in store.

Here’s what we’re doing to keep everyone safe:

Masks required!

Masks are required for customers and employees entering our store or pick-up area.

Physical distancing

Employees and customers are encouraged to stay at least 6-ft away from one another while in the store. We’ve adjusted our merchandising to allow for physical distancing throughout the store.

Limiting capacity

We’ll be monitoring capacity with traffic counters. If we reach capacity, customers can queue, physically distanced, outside until someone leaves the store.

Sneeze-guards at all registers

Sneeze-guards have been installed at every register.

Traffic flow

To help with traffic flow, only the front doors will be open for customer use. One side will be entrance only and the other side exit only. We have set up one-way-traffic zones throughout the store.

Health checks for employees at the start of each shift

All employees will complete a health check including temperature and symptom check before the start of each shift. Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 will not start their shift.

Increased cleaning & sanitation

All high-touch and high-traffic areas will be cleaned regularly

Modifications

We understand there may be circumstances where someone cannot wear a mask due to medical condition or disability, and we’re happy to modify our mask policy for these circumstances by allowing scarves, loose face coverings or face shields instead of a face mask and encouraging customers who cannot wear a mask to shop online or reach out to our team at weborder@universitycoop.com to coordinate on how we can best support them.
