What am I able to purchase with my UT for Me textbook credit

Textbooks, school supplies, art supplies and lab equipment needed for classes, and your graduation cap, gown, tassel, and stole. Backpacks and padfolios are not eligible to be purchased with UT for Me textbook credit

What is LTA and how can I use my UT for Me textbook credit towards LTA materials?

Longhorn Textbook Access (LTA) is a digital textbook available through the "My Textbooks" tab in Canvas.

The cost of your LTA materials will be deducted from your available UT for Me textbook credit after the 12th class day. If you have a remaining balance, it will be charged to your "What I Owe" page

You will receive an email when your LTA balance has been deducted from your UT for Me textbook credit.

When do UT for Me students get their textbook credits?

Students receive their annual textbook credit in August. Each August, the University Co-op emails students directly about their textbook credits and hosts info sessions to demonstrate how to use them. You must fill out the Annual Situational survey in advance to receive.

What do I need to bring to the store to make my purchases?

Please bring a photo ID to shop in store. You can check out at any register, but let the cashier know that you’re a UT for Me student who would like to use your textbook credit. We will ask you for your UT EID at the register to find your account.

Can I use my UT for Me textbook credit online?

You can place online orders as long as they total less than your textbook credit amount. Purchases over the textbook credit amount will have to be made in store.

1) Use the Forgot Password link on the log in page to set up your online account (use the email address where you recieve UT for Me email communication). Note: if you are a returning UT for Me student, you will not need to create an account, you will log into your existing account.

2) You will have to be logged into your Co-op account to use your UT for Me textbook credit. Shop for your materials. At checkout, select "Invoice" as your payment option.

3) Place your order.

As long as you remain eligible in the UT for Me program, your credits will roll over until you graduate.

Who is eligible for a UT for Me textbook credit?

To qualify for UT for Me – Powered by Dell Scholars, a student must be an incoming Pell grant-eligible student who is attending The University of Texas at Austin full time1 as a first-time freshman2 admitted for the fall semester.

There is no application process for UT for Me. UT for Me benefits are awarded based on the information a student provides on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Qualifying students will receive an invitation to participate in UT for Me, are required to sign the UT for Me Terms & Conditions and complete a survey to confirm acceptance into the program and receive program benefits. Qualifying students will be contacted by the program directly with detailed instructions on how to confirm their acceptance.

UT for Me only supports students at UT Austin who meet the above eligibility criteria.

How does a student know if they’re getting textbook credits from UT for Me?

The UT for Me textbook credit is part of the student’s complete financial aid package in My Financial Aid portal.
