The University Co-op Named a Winner of the Greater Austin Top Workplaces 2025 Award by Austin American Statesman

Austin, TX — November 23, 2025 — University Co-op has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Austin Top Workplaces 2025. This list is based solely on team member feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by team member engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the team member experience and its component themes, including team members feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few.

This is the third year in a row that the University Co-op has received this recognition, and this year, the University Co-op ranked 8th for mid-sized companies in the Austin area. “At the University Co-op, we believe that a thriving workplace is the foundation for meaningful impact,” said President & CEO of the University Co-op. “Being recognized for the third year in a row and in the top 10 mid-sized companies is a testament to our team’s dedication, creativity, and care. We’re proud to foster a culture where people feel empowered to grow, innovate, and serve the Longhorn community.”

The Co-op was established nearly 130 years ago with the goal of addressing the rising cost of course materials for students. Today, the Co-op is still focused on reducing the cost of course materials for students. As a not-for-profit, the Co-op gives all profits back to students through course material scholarships for Longhorns. Over 9,000 students will receive a course material scholarship this academic year. The University Co-op has given over $2,000,000 to course material scholarships since 2022.
